urbANA ljubljANA / URBana LJUBLJana
The International Award of Excellence for great achievements in the fields of street theatre has been a tradition since 2017, Ana Desetnica’s 20th anniversary. One year it goes to the best performance by international artists (urbANA ljubljANA), and the next year it goes to Slovenian artists (URBana LJUBLJana).
The aim of this award is to stimulate artist to produce high-quality street performances, which artists, as well as audiences, find demanding, with excellent acting casts and innovative approaches; performances that know how to use streets as performing venues, and – in accordance with their characteristics – are able to incorporate the audience. An international jury of established experts in the field of street art make sure that the award goes to the right hands.
