VELIKA PREDSTAVA O KONCU SVETA

SPECTACLE ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD

A play about the dangers here and now. The great spectacle of the end of the world It represents an original interpretation of the conflict between those who kill this land with gravity, violence or indifference, and those who instead celebrate it as mother earth, whose children we are all and for whom we all have a responsibility to care. Inspired by the Greek myth of the goddess Ceres and the abduction of her daughter Proserpine by the god of the underworld, Pluto, The great spectacle of the end of the world It depicts the struggle between life and death, between catastrophe and dreams, and between the underworld and love, embodied in the conflict between two peoples: the people of spring and the people of the underworld. Their clash becomes a disturbing metaphor for the climate crisis we are experiencing firsthand. Fake news, indifference, apocalyptic insinuations and broken protocols, generational gaps – theater is the instrument that, with its power of performance, helps us create new viewpoints that are closer to everyday reality and people’s needs. The performance deals with climate change in a tragicomic, ironic and grotesque way, maintaining particular care for theatrical quality and the representation of the numerous nuances of mankind. An interdisciplinary theatrical performance that includes theatrical, choreographic, musical and installative actions that move on a border that is intimately linked to the ever day life of citizens, however without ever losing its poetic dimension.
