Always on the lookout for new, innovative ways to get closer to the locals and visitor of Ljubljana, we decided in 2017 to bring chairs, tables, sofas, and other pieces of furniture to the street in order to (re)create the pleasant homely atmosphere of a living room. The main goal of this concept is to invite festival-goers to take some time to relax and mingle while watching the artistic programme; to take a sit between performances, have a little chat, and even have a bite or a drink. Our attempt at making the public space homely turned out to be a success. The city adapted to people, and not the other way around!
Further developing this concept, we managed to import it to other Slovenian towns (Novo mesto, Nova Gorica).
The Living Room project is supported by the recycling centre Snaga from Ljubljana and the public utility centre from Vrhnika.
